Lab 6

Morning Lab:
Ethan used some thicker pieces of bamboo to remake the cups that broke in lab 5. He also found some rubber that was free for the taking to see if it helps prevent the bamboo from cracking as easily and to keep the bike more secure in the stand. The simple clamp was built to help the bike from “jumping” out of the cups.

Afternoon Lab:
Since our structure had been used with a bike the past lab and in the morning, we started our lab by retying all the twine on the whole structure to be more tight and snug. Ethan’s rubber proved to be a perfect fit and we continued to test our bamboo bike stand with the water pump group. Even with a man’s weight and their chain coming off their pump every few seconds, our structure held up just fine and was more sturdy than it was in lab 5!
