Photovoltaic Camping Oven


Our Mission:

Design, Build, and Test a camping oven powered completely by photovoltaic cells.


Goals:

  • Power our camping oven using a 100 Watt solar panel
  • Include Micro-controller and user interface to control oven temperature
  • Utilize engineering analysis to determine the best insulation and framework for the oven while keeping the cost at a minimum
  • Create iterative spreadsheets to mimic heat loss, temperature fluctuations, and cooking times for a variety of different scenarios
  • Use 3D CAD software (SolidWorks) to model our concepts
  • Build prototypes of selected concepts for testing and evaluation
