We’ve been Producing Mushrooms at Cal Poly’s Student Experimental Farm. An important part of mushroom farming is sterilizing the compost before inoculating it with the correct mycelium. Traditionally, this is done with steam and is energy intense. We are exploring how to do this with solar electricity. We will begin this work after mid summer 2016. Look for progress in the Fall!
